SAB Environmental Media Awards and Environmentalist of the Year 2012

Welcome to the SAB Environmental Media Awards and Environmentalist of the Year 2012.

The competition, which is now in its 24th year, applauds and rewards those members of the media who excel in highlighting natural and ecological matters, urban concerns or "green and brown issues" in South Africa today.

In 2011 we made a commitment to start a process of evolution regarding the SAB Environmental Media Awards. This process began with introducing new judges and a completely transparent judging method which continues this year with our new online entering and judging portal.

Competition entrants can either self-nominate or be nominated by their respective media houses in any of the Competition Categories

Entrants for the SAB Environmental Media Awards and Environmentalist of the Year 2012 should submit work produced between 1st August 2011 and 31st July 2012.

Please Note: You need to register to either enter the SAB Environmental Media Awards or nominate someone of the SAB Environmentalist of the Year 2012.

Entries open at 08:00 Monday 6th August 2012 and close at 17:00 on Friday, 24th August 2012. Entries can be submitted either electronically or delivered to the competition auditors, Grant Thornton. These details are available in the Physical Entries  section.

Winners will be announced at an awards’ luncheon on 17th October 2012 at the Johannesburg Country Club.
